Nature has bestowed on women the special gift of Pregnancy and Motherhood. Wanting to be a mother is a lifetime dream of every woman. Fifty yeas ago perhaps in a family the couples used to give birth to half a dozen to one dozen babies. Today's families consist of only one or two children at the m ost. It is the Woman's body that has been provided by nature with the way withal to be able to grow, nurture and give birth to another life. So naturally women are considered to be the daughters of Mother Nature.

The body structure of the woman is designed in such a way to be able to provide a safe home for the fetus to grow and receive the nourishment required for nine months period. The baby draws the required nutrition , nourishment and oxygen from the mother through the umbilical cord. Women's body undergoes a lot of changes both in terms of physical as well as hormonal changes during pregnancy as well as childbirth. The changes can be both temporary as well as permanent during and after pregnancy. The mother to be grows in terms of overall size especially in the abdomen, uterus and the hips area, besides an increase in breast size too. The hips, pelvic muscles as well as the uterus expand sufficiently to allow the child to pass through the canal and come out. Following delivery the abdomen, pelvic bones as well as the hips begin to shrink back to normal size and exercising at this time certainly helps them get back to shape. Some other changes however remain almost permanent and do not revert back to their original state.

What concerns women post childbirth is their stomach, waist and the stretch marks on their stomach. With the expansion and stretching of the skin during pregnancy, the skin gets scarred and causes the tearing of the dermis. After the childbirth when the skin begins to contract along with all the body parts, the stretch marks appear normally on the stomach, thighs as well as hips.

Though over a period of time these stretch marks might get lighter, but may not disappear totally. Women feel very conscious to wear swim suits or shorts and other dresses where their body gets exposed and the scars are visible.Though the stretch marks do not cause any problem to the skin or the body, it is the aesthetic beauty of the body that it mars. However the stretch marks could hamper the careers where women are involved in modeling , acting etc.

Post pregnancy women are very focused and intent upon getting back to their former selves. While they continue nursing the child, they spend their time in hitting the gym and working out to get back to their old shape. When they return back to office after a few months, you cannot make out the difference except for a bit of fatty cheeks.

Extensive research has been conducted by various organizations to produce beauty aids and creams to remove the stretch marks. If you walk into a super market cosmetics sections, you will find several creams with Vitamin E that are used during pregnancy as well as post pregnancy to help reduce the stretch marks. But then the stretch marks may not disappear totally. Just the cream might not serve the purpose of those professionals who are into modeling and other careers. We also have several types of laser treatments that are available to remove the stretch marks. These treatments too are proven and completely safe procedures practiced by trained professionals.

These problems need not bother women today because plenty of solutions are available. This is the time for them to go ahead and enjoy their motherhood.
